Divorce ahead of son's naturalization (split topic)

For the first time, divorce was uttered by my wife. She is naturalized along with our minor daughter. Our son will apply for naturalization next month. Our relationship is legitimate. Totally bewildered!!!

I do have a question though. On all of the petitions and all other assorted K-1 visa documents, she was asked to say whether she was married before. In each instance, she stated that she was a widow. How would it be possible to commit fraud (it turns out she was not a widow)? Almost every document asks those questions about previous marriages and how they ended and proof such as death certificates? I visited the grave site. The circumstances just do not add up. Can somebody put my racing mind at ease?

If she was married in the P I , the only way to be 'documentarily qualified' for YOU to file the I-129F is that SHE needed to be free and clear to marry on the day you filed.   Can't get a divorce in the P I - the most she could have done was to get an annulment .  The IV Unit on interview day does evaluate annulment documents, but hey . 

 

If you wanted to do something against her, you could question the legitimacy of her married status, and drop it off in the lockbox drop off at your closest USCIS office, marking 'ATTN FDNS OFFICER' on the outside of the envelope .   You'd want to include proof of those prior marriages and lack of annulment .. 

Who knows? Examine a child's birth certificate, see if there's a father's name.  Many times for unmarried women in the PI - they refuse to put the father's name.  (They, being the unwed mother, not the hospital worker) ..
