Confusion on VISA Fees

When I filed the original I129f back in November, I paid the $365.  Now when I received the packet from the embassey, it said I had to pay a $365 fee before I can schedule the interview.  Is this the same $365 fee I already paid or an additional fee???   I was able to schedule the interview no problems and I looked around for the a way to pay this fee, but could not find it.  I am confused.  If I HAD to pay the $365 upfront at the time of i129f why would they ask for it again.  If I had not paid it, my application would never have made it to the embassy in the first place...

What you paid for when you submitted your 129f was your application fee to the USCIS. Now when you are approved and transferred to the embassy you need to pay a fee for the visa to the Department of State. Check the web page for your embassy to see haw and when the fee is to be paid. At the London embassy the fee Eva's paid on the date of the interview. But you need to check for embassy specific rules. Congrats on making it this far.

The fee you paid was for the I-129F petition. Now you have to pay the MRV fee for the visa application. These are 2 separate processes and the fee goes to 2 separate entities (I-129F goes to USCIS, MRV goes to the embassy/DoS).

 

For Colombia, I believe this is actually $265 (https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-co/niv/information/fee). I'm not sure where the second $365 came from.
