Medical Delays and Wait Time for Visa

Hey everyone!

I have my interview in Montreal on the 4th, less than a week away. But I'm starting to fret over two things.

Due to the holidays and having to reschedule my first doctor's appointment because of a snowstorm, there's a possibility my medical package won't be ready in time. The doctor's office said I could tell the consulate that it's not ready and I can mail it to them. Is this true? I really don't want to reschedule my interview.

And if it is ready in time and I go to my interview how long until I get the visa? I've looked through the forum and it's confusing. Some posts say they had their interview in the morning and flew to the States in the afternoon. Yet the sticky says it can take 6 months for Montreal to courier the visa to you. Which is it? Do I get my visa as soon as the interview is done or am I back in the waiting game?

Thanks!

Can pretty much say no one gets the visa the same day as the interview.

Generally it takes anywhere from 1-4 weeks depending on how fast they process it, unless you get stuck in the hole that is AP.

Same day visa?!? I have never heard of such a thing. My L1-B Visa took a week, but I paid for faster processing and picked it up as opposed to waiting on a courier.

The ONLY person I've ever talk about same day visa was a guy doing a work visa, but I don't even know if he got it that day. I think it's just rumor and talk.

With that said, K-1's are usually faster than CR-1/IR-1's. My husband (then fiance) got 221g for more documents, once those were received by the consulate, he had his visa in his hand a week later. This was one of the faster ones. Usually the wait for K-1 at Montreal is 2 weeks to a Month, unless there's a million holidays that month.

Same day visas are long gone. It was rare way back when but it did happen for the odd person.

It took 6 weeks for me to get my visas after I sent in additional documents.

Hopefully the medical will be ready in time. I dont even think there are next day visas like mine. K1 actually tend to take longer than IR1/CR1 because they normally have a short AP.
