AOS December 2016 Filers (merged)

Hello All,

I was able to mail my AOS Concurrent Filing (i-130,i-485,i-765,i-131) on December 5, 2016 to Chicago Lockbox. I used Priority Mail Box and mailed it at the PO Box address of Chicago Lockbox with tracking.

Important thing to note for people who mail their AOS in second half of December is that the new fees comes into Effect post Dec 23. So please be careful about that.

Intent of starting this thread is for people on similar timeline as mine

Best of Luck to everybody

Cheers

Hey everyone

Just sent in my AOS packet after spending hours sorting all the paperwork! Didn't know how much there was to send , the weight of it ended up being 2lbs of paperwork.

I'm adjusting from (F1) on OPT. Just starting this thread so we can all follow each other along this journey:)

Lol thats pretty funny, we probably are going to have the same timeline then:) let me know of any updates! I heard the wait for an interview for the St. Paul office is almost a year!

Yup, now starts the dreaded wait :clock: , where did you check this interview wait times from ?

Those timelines are an average for all I-485 for that particular Field Office. In my opinion, our cases would be affected by 2 facts, a) concurrent filing with I-130 and also b) Under I-130 category it is through Spouse, which gets priority over other kinds.

So i think it would be faster than average. I think it would be logical to assume that, or maybe its just wishful thinking

Well lets wait and see, I hope you are right. I found an old forum from other people filing concurrently and they also said the St. Paul office is backed up. Who did you send your AOS package through? I did mine at Fedex meant to get there on wednesday

Your timeline says you sent package on 11/05. Is that correct or did you mean 12/05?

I am preparing my package now. Should be sending it by Thursday hopefully. Adjusting from J1

Good Luck to all of us

I am trying to send my AOS packet ASAP but the I-693 is too expensive for me now. Can I send my AOS packet without the I693 and take it with me to the interview? Will my application be denied for sending without it? Please i need to know

Can you please send me your checklist and packet at kellyjakpa96@gmail.com

Yes you can send your AOS without it, USCIS would come up with an RFE and ask you to either send it or bring it with you in the AOS interview.
