K1 Visa - Maui Hawaii

Hi, my fiance just got her K1 visa and we are thinking to travel to the US within two months. I live in Dallas Tx but we are thinking to have a good vacation in Maui Hawaii, but we are afraid that if we go to Hawaii, my fiancee won't be allowed to enter Dallas when we are done from Hawaii.

She doesn't have her passport with the visa on it yet. The embassy told her to come back and pick it up in a week with the visa on it so we don't know if the visa is a single or multiple entry visa.

I want to be 100% sure before I plan for our vacation in Hawaii. Take into consideration we are going to travel from Beirut Lebanon to Maui Hawaii. This means that our first stop in the US soil is going to be most probably in LA so our POE will be LA??

Please clarify this for me asap!

Thanks and Regards,

Yes your first stop will be LA POE.

Flying from Hawaii to another state and vice versa is fine because Hawaii is one of the states.

So it would be a domestic flight and wouldn't go through immigration.

You'll have no issue.

Once you enter the US you can travel anywhere inside it without dealing with immigration again. So LA->Hawaii->Dallas or whatever is all fine, they won't be checking her immigration status at all (just passport for identification at TSA).

Thank you very much guys for the answers !

Few more questions:

Since LA will be my finacee's POE, I believe she will be turning in the sealed package over there in the airport, is that right? If so how long this process will take ?

I need to know so I can plan accordingly on how much time to stay in LA airport before we head towards Maui Hawaii

Thanks in advance

Yes the package will be handed over in LA.

She will most likely be taken into secondary for processing, it's like a check in process.

This can range from 10 minutes to a few hours, but it really depends on how busy they are and how many international flights are arriving etc.

So it's always best to leave 3-4 hours between flights.

Bare in mind flights get delayed also, ands anything could happen to delay her.

Yeah its very hard to say. When my fiancee and I entered, it took her less than 5 minutes at POE (in Los Angeles). But as previous poster said, if they choose her for secondary screening/processing it could take longer (either a few minutes longer or hours longer, all depending on her situation and their attitude). So I agree with them that 3-4 hours would be playing it pretty safe (nothing is guaranteed about entry, but if it takes more than a few hours you're in pretty unusual territory I think).
