I-864 - can I use husband's income? (merged)

Hello,

I'm preparing all my forms in advance as we are waiting for approval of the I-130 still.

I'm the petitioner and am not working. We both live overseas together with our daughter. Can I use my husband's income for form I-864? If yes, then do we both need to fill out a form?

(Our total household income does meet the poverty guidelines.)

If his income will continue when he moves to the US then yes you can use it. It is current and continuing income that matters, not past income (unless he is self employed).

Thanks for your quick response! I feel like I'm swimming in forms! (Immigration forms and it's us tax time!) :/

It will not continue from France to the US. He has been offered a job (contingent, of course, upon receipt of the green card) so can we include the employment offer (salary is stated on offer)? Also, can we use bank accounts here (France) and there (US) to meet the income requirement? I read that assets must be valued at three times the difference between the poverty guideline and actual household income.

Would it be easier to use a relative in the US?

& he is self-employed here in France. Although as stated above, he will not be self-employed once living in the US.

Is he working with a U.S. Company that when he comes to the U.S. His income will continue ? If no then you need a joint sponsor .
