My wife and I had our interview last week. It was quite smooth, but like your husband, my wife a very nervous as well. It started with a swearing in to tell the truth, then the interviewer basically started verifying the the information on the 485 (name, address, etc.). Then she went through all the yes/no questions like are you a spy, etc. I could see my wife relax a lot as it went on. The interviewer then asked us to relate our story which she let us answer together. As to documents, we provided her with updated taxes, health insurance, life insurance, bank statements, photos, and any additional proof we brought with us. We also shared our wedding album with her, but she didn't keep that. My wife also has an adult son, so we gave her a copy of his birth certificate as well as a translation. At the end, she told us everything looked in order, but she would have to go through the entire package in detail before a decision was made. She gave us a form to that effect, and we thanked her and left. The whole process took about 10-15 minutes not including the wait time. The interviewer was quite nice and very friendly.

Lastly, two days later our status changed to say my wife's card was being produced.

Good Luck!

I saw after my first post that you are also in Michigan, so most likely you will be going to Detroit. There are a few reviews in the Reviews section of the Detroit USCIS office related to the interviews. Most of them I read were similar, and positive.

Good Luck!

The interview was today! I think it went fine. Pretty much exactly as you described above. She asked our story. The only other question she asked was who came to the wedding. My husband had no trouble rattling off the list of people. She asked for documents of our relationship. We glacé her the marriage license, bank statements, and car title. She flipped through our photos. After that she gave us a paper explain the removal of conditions but told us that we need to get a copy of the marriage license that shows that it was filed with the courts. We took the original that we were given. I guess that happens a lot. We rushed back to the courthouse and scanned and emailed it to her. Hopefully that will ensure an approval soon.
