Haven't used it as a POE but whenever I fly through there they are as nice as pie. Just avoid Philly. Don't they have reports somewhere on here about the POEs?

Met the ole man in January 1998

I came in via Newark at the beginning of the year. They were pleasant, fairly quick (although the line was short). I didn;t get a temp EAD stamp. From what I've heard the only place that gives it out is JFK, and that's not on a consistant basis.

Is Philly really bad as a POE? I ask this because it's one of two "alternate to BWI" POE's of roughly equal time getting home (assuming daytime arrival; midnight-6 am, Dulles is somewhat faster).

(note: if I use Philly or Dulles as POE, no further connexions)

The reason I moan about Philly is because I think their immigration staff are the most rudest and unprofessional bunch of people I have ever come across. The wait times are usually OK though. Dulles is a sh*thole of an airport and I always feel like I can never breath when I'm in it. Erm, at a long shot I'd go for Philly just because Dulles is so depressing.

I'm 30 minutes from Philly and 90 from Newark and I only had my husband (when he was my fiance) fly through EWR because *I* had a bad experience in Philly, and I'm a USC!!

My husband's entry to EWR is up in my timeline, btw. He said it's easy as pie.

I couldn't find any....perhaps I should search for Newark, not POE.

**gasp ** you haven't searched?!?!? :P

The only consistently bad POE is Atlanta. Avoid like the PLAGUE. I haven't read bad reports about Phiily, but then again, I'm only on here 23/7... might've missed one or two

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I wouldn't put Hartsfield as "consistently bad", but then I haven't used it as a POE since January 2000 (on a I-551 passport stamp).

The one other time I used Hartsfield as POE (March 1999 from Gatwick, on TN-1), I hit a minor glitch--inspecting officer asking "where's the visa?".

A lot of my trips outside US have been to Canada, from where there is essentially NO POE due to PFI clearance. The one consistently bad PFI (not surprising, it's in the airport rated worst in the country for 17+ years running) is at Pearson.

I flew from Heathrow into Newark as my POE on Saturday 23rd Sept. :)

It went smoothly with no problems.

Immigration was very quiet, after he checked the contents of my brown envelope, I was taken to a waiting room where they looked over my paperwork again, after about 10 minutes they called my name & I was on my way to baggage collection.

The baggage took ages to come out, around 30-40 minutes. But once I'd collected my 4 bags I went through customs, where I didn't have any problems & they barely acknowledged me. I was expecting more hassle as I'd left the declare stuff part of the form blank.

& that's it, my beautiful fiancee was there waiting for me. :D

Total time from plane to waiting area was probably a little over an hour.

I hope it goes as smooth for your fiance as it went for me.

My return through Newark was friendly and easy. At the last minute I decided to put away my AP and hand in a I94W I'd filled out on the plane instead to see if it would speed things up. It resulted in a 'quick stamp and off you go' so I'm glad I did it. I've used AP on other trips at different POE but just tried that at Newark as an experiment.

**gasp ** you haven't searched?!?!? :P

funny! I did extensive POE research smarty. I found one bad Newark one as well...

Yup, it was mine!!!

The guy made some scene with his co-workers and insinuated that I crossed the border while in Mexico. Asked me several times how many times I have been in US and made me very pissed and nervous. I kept asking if there was something wrong and what was it??? Of course, he never answered me or just answered with another repeated question. :ranting:

To complete the scenario, one of the ladies, that was organizing the lines outside the room, came and asked if I was from Brasil with 3 kennels. I said yes and why she was asking that. She just left and I totally lost my mind thinking that one of my pets could have died or something. I totally freaked out by this time and just started crying. The guy then asks me why I was crying. I said because I think something happened to my pets (of course, I wanted to say: "stop questioning and give my passport back!!! GGGGGGGRRRRRRRRR! :diablo:). Well, finally the guy give me my passport back and I was running through that huge airport to find out if something bad happened to my pets. But they were fine...

Why the lady didn't tell me she was just checking out???

It wasn't a pleasure experience, except for the girl that first got my documents and brought me to the iimigration room. She said congratulations and everything... But the rest was bad... IMO...

Carol ;)
