Consulate Review: London, United Kingdom
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 15, 2006
Embassy Review : My interivew was scheduled for 10:30 on 12th June.
Arrived at 9:45 to find 2 large queues & was told by a guy organising the queues which to wait in. It was a really hot day and I had to wait outside for around 30 minutes before having passport checked & then going through security.
On entrance into the embassy I took a number, sat down & waited about an hour to be called up to window 14.
Here I gave my passport, birth cert, police check, 2 passport photos, payment slip, 1-134 (in duplicate where applicable). He gave me back a lot of the docs I'd included with the I-134, & I wasn't asked for any proof of relationship. I also had to sign the forms I'd previously sent to the embassy & was given my chext xray. I was given a pink form to fill out for the SMS courier delivery while I waited for my number to be called again.
I waited around 20 minuted before being called to window 15 where a nice lady returned my birth cert & police check originals. She got me to raise right hand & swear that everything was true to the best of my knowledge. Then she said that my medical was fine & everything seemed in order. She also suggested that I didn't book a flight until I had actually received my visa, I guess just incase there was a problem or delay. And that was pretty much it, I paid £9.50 at the SMS desk. In total it took around 2.5 hours.

My passport/visa arrived 3 days later with visa envelope. :D

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
