Documents LOST ( Passport card & Naturalization Certificate )

Hi All....

I applied for the US Passport & Passport card for the first time on July 16th 2015 by sending my application along with original naturalization certificate. I received my US Passport (Blue book) on August 5th 2015 but never received the passport card and original naturalization certificate back.

I called the office and they can not locate a mail out date for my passport card and they want me to wait further for naturalization certificate which does not sound right. They advised me to send DS86 form which is probably for lost items but my items are not lost for sure because they can not locate in the system any mail out dates.

Any one else in the same boat ?

Any advice from senior members ?

Thank you in advance.

Mo

What else would than "lost" would you consider it? You are lucky enough that you got the passport which is proof of your citizenship. However, they are not paying for a replacement of the Nat. Cert. :ranting:

I will submit my application through overnight delivery and expedited the process even though I have no plan on traveling. This way I can cut down in the timeline I'd have to wait to receive my original certificate. I wish there was a way I could expedited the delivery of my Certificate and pay upfront for certified mail.

Why not just apply in person at a Passport Agency? If you profile information is correct, there is a Passport Agency in Aurora CO. They will review your application and you walk out with your Nat Cert and receive the passport in the mail later.

This is ridiculous, we can not pay for the safe transit of our documents and then government don't take responsibility for lost documents either....what a joke... I will do everything i can to appeal if i have to pay $345 Nat Cert fee.

Another way of government robbing people ........!! Good luck being American !! :>
