United States Department of Homeland Security for cover letter address?

Hello,

On one of the sample I-129F cover letters, it shows the address as follows:

United States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Attn: I-129F

2501 South State Highway 121 Business

Suite 400

Lewisville, TX 75067

But one of the other sample I-129 cover letters I've seen, it shows:

USCIS
Attn: I-129F
2501 South State Highway 121 Business
Suite 400
Lewisville, TX 75067

For the cover letter and actual address I write on the envelope package, which one is correct?

On the Letter of Intent, my fiancee wrote the following address and signed it:

United States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Attn: I-129F

2501 South State Highway 121 Business

Will this be a problem?

Great. And all of our letters (not sent yet) are addressed to USCIS PO Box 660151. His letter of intent can't be redone, at least not quickly. Anyone have input besides "follow the guides" because clearly....

I must have read an older version of the guide. Because some of the guides list Department of Homeland Security as the address.

Yes, that's where I got it from also.

It shows the recipient as:

United States Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

So I don't know if this will be a problem or not because the other files just list 'USCIS' as the recipient.

No cover-letter is needed at all. Its chief purpose, if any, is perhaps to serve as a concise guide of what you're enclosing.

But as my fiancee already sent me her signed letter of intent (with the older

Then maybe it shouldn't be included in the example letter found in the guides, which is where anyone with a "stupid question that has already been answered by the guides" is *constantly* referred when they dare ask a question that arises from being confused by the guides.

If the document you've prepared deviates from the examples found in the guides in some way, it's up to you to use a little common sense and decide whether or not you have a problem. In this case, the address on the letters isn't going to make a bit of difference, especially since it's not explicitly required by USCIS that you use one specific format.

Funny, I thought that the forums were a place to ask questions when you get confused when, say, what you've done deviates from the examples in the guides (especially when what you've done follows examples found elsewhere in the very same guides, or used what you thought was "common sense" in the first place). Silly me. I'll refrain from doing so in the future.

Look, I'm just pointing out that many people are way too quick to shoot down people's questions with "read the guides" even before reading their actual question----a question that often arises from the guides themselves. Can you imagine asking "hey, I saw this in the guide and it confused me" and getting the response "read the guide!" ? Because that's exactly what happened here. And there ARE issues that are not addressed in the guide (notably, how to handle Latin style surnames and what to do if street/mailing addresses do not exist in the country you are petitioning for).

This process is complicated, it's stressful and many people have never been through anything like this before and getting reprimanded for asking a question on the portion of the website devoted to asking questions doesn't exactly make it any better.
