Thinking of filing a service request at TSC? Please read this first!

Hi everyone! I'm seeing a lot of posts about Service Requests and being at the "5 month" mark, so I think we need a topic about this...

When TSC was reporting a 5 month processing time for I-129Fs, the criteria for a Service Request was waiting 5 months plus 30 days before one could be filed. As we all know TSC is reporting a processing date of December 17th for I-129Fs. Not only does this "December 17th" date signify that TSC is way behind on adjudicating I-129Fs, it also happens to be the current Service Request cutoff date. This means that the "5 months plus 30 days" rule no longer applies, now in order to file a Service Request you must have mailed (yes mailed, it is not based on your NOA1 date) your petition before December 17th, 2013. If TSC updates with an approximate date again next month (say for example January 17th) that would be the new cutoff date. If TSC goes back to listing 5 months, the "5 months plus 30 days" rule would apply once again.

So for those of you that didn't know, that's how Service Requests are currently working.

When submitting, they do allow you an out. You may not "remember" the exact date you mailed, so you can enter in just the month along with the 1st of that month as the day. I realize that it is bending the rules, but after 5-6 months, you will try anything.
