Hi,

I have a question regarding the locAtion of interview. My fiancé is a citizen of Australia and the United Kingdom. But he lives in New Zealand and is not a citizen. On the I-129f I put the closest location for embassy as auckland, New Zealand. I was talking to someone and they said they would think he would need to go to Australia or the UK for his interview... Does anyone know? He are just over 5 months from our noa1, so I am just preparing and second guessing everything now bc this whole time I thought he would just do the interview and medical in NZ. Thanks!

Does he have legal status in NZ? I know several New Zealanders who live in Australia, and I don't think they require a visa to go there and live. Does it work in the other direction as well? It ought to do.

I am from Canada, but had resident status in NZ, and I interviewed at AKL.

NVC will look at the address listed for the beneficiary on page 2 when they forward the case file to the embassy, so make sure you use an address where you want the interview to take place. NVC does not bother looking at the information on page 5, just the same you should list the embassy you want to use.

Hank- are you sure about that? many people have been telling me he is more likely to do the interview in NZ than his countries of citizenship. I sent my petition in in JAnuary, and am awaiting NOA2, is there anyway I can contact NVC to see and make sure of where the interview will be?

Hi there, if your fiancé has legal documents in NZ, I'm pretty sure he can be interviewed in NZ, because all they will ask him is legal documents of NZ. I had my aunt who had that same experience and she was asked any legal document, she was in Canada at the time. And she only sent them her work permit. So he's good there.

Yes I am, I know of three case just recently where NVC sent the case file to the embassy that serves the address for the beneficiary listed on page 2 even though they listed a different country on page 5.

There is contact info for NVC in my link below, follow the flashing arrow (of course info beyond the NVC contact info will not pertain).

There is no address listed on page 2 stating where he lives, just the mailing address which is my parents house in the USA and his citizenship information which states the UK and Australia… is that what you mean?

Part 2, page 2 asks for mailing address of your fiance, so you listed a U.S. address for your fiance who lives in another country?

correct, mailing address for the two of us is my parents home address since we have both been moving around we wanted a super stable mailing address

Interesting to see what NVC does with that... no address in a foreign country.

Well there is foreign addresses on the G-325. I was told a foreign mailing address was fine. Hoping it all goes smoothly! thank you very much for your help!

Maybe USCIS will catch that and have questions being you haven't gotten your NOA2 yet.
