Hahaha XD. Yes, she checked my lungs. Did that thing where she puts the stethoscope against your back twice at the top, twice at the bottom, then does it on the front of your chest. She made me take my robe down for that and said I had to lay back flat w/ boobs out to check my lungs. No breast exam. My GP usually does that with my t-shirt on but whatever XD. She never felt my stomach.

Hahah! I have that problem too, trick is to tuck the belly in, cant go wrong

In other news: the docs is open for another 3 hours and no news from them about any problems with my medical, have been scaring myself reading the thread about people needing repeat xrays. Think I may call them

What I did was call them and ask 'Could you let me know if my results have been sent to the Embassy yet?' I thought that sounded better than 'Was anything wrong with my results?'

They said 'Yes, they were sent this morning.'

I just rang them and she put me on hold for 10mins while she checked my results

But then she came back and said everything was fine and they sent the results to the embassy today :D

So just back from a VERY LONG day. Still trying to figure out how it takes so long to get there. So we got to Knightsbridge pretty early. Like 11:45 and his appointment wasn't until 1:50. So we stopped for a bit and rested on the stairs had a packet of crisps and a drink and an old lady came out and asked us to "move along please...this is a residential building"rolleyes.gif . OK, so on we moved...walked around Selfridges, got a coffee, wasted time until 1:30. We arrived back at 1:35. The lady at reception was very pleasant. We gave her all of our paper work, she handed us the form to fill out and we did and returned it back quickly. Then we sat.....and sat.....until 2:35 when a very nice, heavier man with glasses, came for the x-ray. Glyn said he was very pleasant and had apologized for the fact that they were running behind. Glyn came out and sat and the doctor came out at about 3:50 to get him. Female, chin length, wavy blonde hair....and a not so nice personality. She started out immediately going through Glyn's papers that we brought and said...you didn't bring a picture. Glyn said, yes we did, we handed it in when we got here. She said well its not here...and she wasn't being nice about it. Well, luckily we brought more than one picture so he came out and got another. He brought it in and gave it to the doctor and she said oh...I found the other one, it was in the passport. No apology or anything. She then goes through and gets to the fact that Glyn takes medicine for mixed anxiety and depression. She says...oh, I need a letter from your GP. Which of course he says...we brought one. Not good enough she says, it needs to say you have no history of self harm/suicide, and no threat to others. Instead it says that he is currently and has been treated since 2003 and that it is well controlled with medication. He's never had any suicide attempts so we never even thought that would be a problem. BUT, I did bring a copy of his medical records FROM the GP and no where on it does it say anything out any suicide attempts. She wouldn't take it. So now he's all wound up and she takes his blood pressure which is now through the roof because he's fuming. She wasn't being nice at all. Gave him a hard time about one of his eyes ( He has Coates disease which she has never heard of) and about the fact he has athletes foot. What I don't get, is he went through all this FIVE YEARS AGO, at the VERY SAME place...and he had all these issues before, no problem. Honest to God, by the time we left there I needed a stiff drink. OH, and upon getting ready to leave, Glyn needed to use the toilet...good thing, because while he was in there, the office staff found more of our paperwork that they had neglected to give back. We finally left at 3:30, more than a little frustrated.

SO, in closing, I now I to go BACK to the GP, with the letter from knightsbridge explaining what they need, and try to get another letter and probably have to pay another 16.00 for it.

My recommendation for everyone...bring an extra picture, just in case your 1 required photo goes missing between reception and the exam room, be sure you get back ALL your paperwork before leaving, and if ANYONE has a past or present issue with depression/anxiety, be sure your letter from your GP states you are no danger to yourself or others...save yourself the headache!

Hi there all.

Had my Medical today and it went superbly apart from the train journey down there.

Train was 30 mins late due to someone jumping in front of a train near to London Euston. So obviously leave yourself plenty of time to get there as me and my daughter was running crazy to get on 2 tubes and then running to number 4 Bentnick mansion and literally arrived on the dot of my appointment.

I had the nice South African doctor that many of you have had. Nice chappy.

I firstly had my medical and this is what it consisted of ~

Hi Mrs So n So .

Please take your boots off and sit on the couch.. Then he did my blood pressure ( all good) , he checked my ears and eyes and asked me to read from the lettered board ( same as opticians ),As i have scaring on my left eye i couldn't read much of it with that eye and he said oh a lazy eye ? i said no it is scarred due to this reason when i was younger bla bla bla, ok no problem he said. Then he asked me to lay down on the couch , he checked my breasts for lumps ( i had my bra and t shirt on ) and asked if i self examined - i said yes i do , he asked if there was any history in the family - to which i said in my aunty's but not ours he said ok that's no problem asked if i had ever had a mamogram i said yes ( im 47 ) . He then checked the front of my chest and back thouroughly ie 4 parts of the front and 6 on the back .asked me if any heart problems i said none Then he took a blood sample ( i never felt a thing ) and then he asked me to lower my jeans to my groin , he then lowered my panties and checked i was all woman. He asked me if the address on my paperwork is where i will be living - also asked if i had ever seen a doctor in USA i said yes thats how you have my jab details as i had them done there :) to which he said oh yes of course.

He didn't do the tapping of a mallet on my knees etc for my reflexes.

Then he said great do up your jeans and sit at the chair.

He asked me about my ventoline in hal4r, to which i replied i only use it seasonally ie when pollen is high other than that i dont really us it - he said great .

He asked me about smoking - how many do you smoke and i told him ~ ok thank you he said.

He asked me if i had ever taken drugs or been arrested for DD , to which i told him yes to DD and no never done drugs - but in strange circumstances - explained it all to him and he said great i don't have a problem with that. ( my brother had been pulled over by the police and he ran off to which i jumped in the car and moved it to a safer place and i got arrested for DD then too as they caught my brother)

He checked my jabs certificate that i had done when i was in USA last time i was there. All correct he said. He asked me if any heart problems i said no.

One thing he did tell me was that though i had my MMR in USA i was surposed to have another one after 4 weeks , i said eh no one told me this !!! he said its ok we don't have any in stock anyway so don't worry all your jabs are up to date and you don't need any.

During all this time we were chatting about other things - ie my job working in the NHS etc. He was wonderful and i felt really at ease with him .

then he said your next in for a chest x-ray i said ok ty is that it ? he said yes your good to go . no problems with any of your medical today .

So then i went had my chest x-ray, the guy there is great too. he laughed and said sorry i took a minute he said but i think i almost got others chest x-rays mixed up for a bit there !!!!!!!!!!!! ... he laughed and said all sorted now though lol. anyway , top and bra off and a gown on. He took it within a minute and he looked at it on his screen as i got dressed and said it looks great no problems but i'm not the examiner of them so don't worry all looking good from what i see.

Back to reception who gave me all my stuff back - ie passprt etc, then she mentioned the second MMR and i explained to her i wasn't told of this - she also said don't worry we don't do it anyway !!!.

So in all i was there for one hour but waited 20 mins initially to be seen .

I was told they will have results back on Monday late afternoon and no news is good news and my stuff would be sent to Embassy Monday :)))))) . and no problems with anything.

Anyway i think i have listed all things in this , If you nd any more info or want to ask questions please do .,

But i will say i worried terribly all week over this - but all in all it went great and no problems.

Glad it went well for you!!! I emailed the letter we needed from Glyn's GP to Knightsbridge last night and got an email back this morning saying they had received it and if anything further was needed they would let me know. Fingers crossed everything will be on its way to the Embassy by the end of the day.

Just a note here for the K1s. If you leave any immunizations undone at Knightsbridge, then you will have to pay a civil surgeon in the US to fill out a new form (I-693) showing updated and complete records. Any shots finished after your medical and not recorded on that DS-3025 vaccination sheet Knightsbridge gives you, require a civil surgeon to sign off. If the DS-3025 shows everything needed for AOS, then it can be your proof without spending further money.

So for example-- the member justoleme who wrote the review a post or so up was lacking a second MMR. She will now have to get it and pay a civil surgeon in the US to sign off. The problem people encounter is locating a civil surgeon who will do that for $35-$50. Some people call 10 offices and are told they have to pay $100-$300 to have a new medical exam or the doctor won't do the immunization part. You do not need the full medical exam if a year hasn't passed, but you are at the mercy of whatever the civil surgeon wants to charge and many immigrants take their word and pay for a new medical. It's rather a hassle to so many.

About two doses of MMR. There is a four week waiting period after Dose 1 before Dose 2 can be safely given. If you just got Dose 1 and go to Knightsbridge before 4 weeks, then they are supposed to tick the waiver that says "insufficient time interval". That waiver marked is enough for you to skip Dose 2 because it was medically inappropriate to have the shot that day. That is all USCIS is looking for when you do AOS---either a shot date or a waiver.

So what if you had Dose 1 six weeks ago? Knightsbridge will say you need Dose 2. There is no medical waiver because at six weeks it is perfectly fine to have DOSE 2.

What if you had one dose as a baby and bring a record? And had another dose last year? That's your two doses. No more needed, but they need shot records to prove the dates.

What if you had two doses as a baby/child? Prove it on paper and you don't need any more.

What if you are like justoleme and find out at the medical you are due another dose because four weeks have passed since your first dose? I would suggest two options:

1) pay for the shot then and there and get cleared for AOS

2) tell them to hold off signing/sending the forms to the embassy until you get the missing shot on NHS and your doctor faxes the proof to them. There is a few days delay anyway because they have to wait on lab results to come back on your bloodwork. When they get the proof from your doctor, they add it to the immunization form and mail you a photocopy of the now complete DS-3025 that you can use for AOS instead of getting an I-693 in the US.
