Delay in document delivery (NVC to Manila US Embassy) CR-1

Hi, I was given an interview date last December 29. My interview was supposed to be last Feb. 1. I received a call two days prior that there was a delay in the delivery of documents from the NVC to the Manila US Embassy. It won't reach Manila in time so they told me not to show up. I'm wondering the following:

1. Does this happen and often?

2. How long does it usually take for documents to arrive?

3. How long until an interview is rescheduled?

Will appreciate some answers. My fear is that my documents are missing. :(

Understand your fears. It has happened.... :girlwerewolf2xn: ... very rarely but it has happened.

Normally documents arrive in a week or two from when NVC sends them to USEM.

I feel that NVC will not reschedule your interview until they have your case file in hand/forwarded to USEM. So until that moment stay on top of NVC.

Why the NVC and not the Embassy? We called the NVC and were told that the package left there Jan. 18.

Because NVC will schedule your interview, not USEM. If you have been told by NVC that your case file has shipped to USEM (and is not lost as you feared), then NVC should also be sending you a new interview date.

My wife went to her interview and got postpone and they told her she can walk in anytime when her package arrived.. they interviewed her on the counter and after 30 mins they told her that she was postpone.. i dont think nvcdo the interview scheduled anymore.. USEM gave my wife a number to call to check her package arrived.. when it arrived she can walk in the USEM and get an interview..

Stay in contact with NVC, call daily until they find your case file... and give you an interview date. If push comes to shove call your congressman or senator.

Why would they interview her if her files weren't on hand

Interview over by the counter not in the room interview.. here are the number 02 976 8500..if you are in the state call this 703 520 2235... you call USEM not the NVC because NVC dont know that because they sent your package to USEM.. now out wives interviews are in hand of that DHL delivery guy...
