221g - Medical Exam - Wait Time

My fiancee and I had our interview in the Dominican Republic on Dec 12, 2013. Everything went great and we were approved but the consul informed us that they had not received the medical exam from el Consultorio de Visas. He handed us back the passport with the 221g form and told us that all we had to do wait for was a call. On the form, the only two things that had a check mark next to them were passport and medical exam. I called the consulate back the next day and they informed me that they had received the medical exam that very same day. I asked about the passport and the lady I spoke to said that the will get in contact with us. A couple of day later, my fiancee spoke to his brother who had a friend who knew someone that had gone through a similar situation. The friend told my fiancee that he had to go back to DOMEX and send his passport back to the consulate. My fiancee did just that, and they received it on Dec 23. A few days later, he received a letter asking him to go back to the consulate to windows 28 or 29 and take his passport. The letter was post marked with the same date that we had sent the passport it to the consulate, so it was clear that they sent the letter before they received the passport. I called DOS and the consulate and they both told me the same information: They they had received all of the documents that were needed, but the wait time is unsure. I was told by both places that it's just a matter of time before the visa is issued on his passport. I call DOS on a daily basis and check CEAC every couple of hours and everything remains the same.

In a couple of days, it will be a month since our interview, so I'm not extremely worried since I know Dom. Rep. can get a little lazy sometimes, but I really miss my fiancee and am hoping that this ends soon!!

I know many people have gone through a similar situation with missing documents, so how long has the wait time been since the date they received all missing documents?

Just curious how far in advance did your fiance had his medical exam done?

He went 9 days in advance. He was attempting to go 12-14 days in advance but his mother was ill and was admitted into the hospital.
