Hi Guys. Sorry to hear about the devastation during the storm. I hope all family is well. We just had our interview on 25 NOV at Manila. It was a sucess! Cesario is traveling this month to the US. We are able to watch the status updates as they take place on the CEAC website. We just saw the status change to updated as of today and are confident that it indicates the visa packet is ready. We will buy the plane ticket once he has the visa packet. Don't forget the CFO requirement. We almost did, though he met a nice girl walking out together and the struck up a conversation about the CFO rquirement and so he took down the information. He said everyone he spoke with was SUPER nice and the Filipina lady who interviewed him wanted him to go out and get me...i stood outside for four hours....four hours. The guards kept moving me along, but they did so with a smile. There is actually a waiting area over to the left of the entry. There are about 200 Filipinos waiting there for their family. Also you won't be allowed to take any electronic devices into the consulate, so leave them in your room or you stay outside. They said that the Fiances could not go in, but that is not true. Many men accompanied their beautiful Filipina girlfriends into the consulate office. After it was all said and done, the deputy chief sent a personal note congratulating both of us on the approval and asked us to share our story, which we are trying to figure out the best way to do so. Be there on time for the appointment, but know, that appointment time is not just for you....it's for you and about 100 others. Just be there on time. He wlll need to show the guard the notice of action from USCIS and the appt letter he received from the consulate. From there he will go through a series of windows and people. and he will wait and wait and wait. Take photos as they will ask for them. I believe you should take the I-134 too. Either that or W2s or pay stubs. The way we looked at it was that we carried a lot just in case. We were more prepared than the boyscouts. He was a nervous wreck. But came out talking about how nice they were and how comfortable the whole thing was. On the logistical side we stayed over at teh H2O manila hotel in the aquarium park. it was pretty cool, but for heaven's sake don't choose a bay view room. Manila bay is not so clean. Choose an aquarium room. It is a real treat.

State of residency is NOT an issue. The issue is where is the marriage celebrated, or performed. All that you have to do in indicate that you will marry in one of the jurisdictions that celebrate marriage equality. If you do not do so in the beginning, they "may" ask you to clarify. But it is NOT necessary. Send balut!

ahh....great news story. thank you for sharing. Looks like they may have been in line just before us. Ours was issued on 12/4 and delivered on 12/7 with a fly date of 12/13. Holy moses. it has been a awesome ride.
