It is my understanding that our only option to be able to take advantage of the fact that the F2A category is set to Current is to get through the interview before retrogression. Otherwise, if retrogression takes place to a date earlier than your PD before the interview, then that means that by the time of the interview, a visa number will no longer be available; and therefore, even if your visa petition is accepted at the interview, you wouldn't get the stamp on your passport until your PD becomes current again. Although I could be wrong.

They could have just frozen the PD at OCT 8, 2011 instead of putting CURRENT. Now, tourist visa holders using it to adjust status is just annoying, jumping ahead of those who are helplessly waiting. rolleyes.gif

Retrogression won't be that bad anyway and besides it will put everyone in their right places as processing will be according to priority dates again (as it should be). good.gif

Sorry, I didn't get your point. If they froze on OCT 8, 2011 then many case complete people wouldn't be able to get their interviews scheduled.

Wouldn't you take advantage of adjustment of status? I'm happy for those who can reunite soon and, of course, a bit jealous :)

I would predict the cut-off date to be end of 2012/beginning of 2013. If they say that it likely won't harm filers who already started the action, let's believe them and keep our finger crossed!

April 2013 PD is DEC. 2010

May 2013 PD is March 2011

June 2013 PD is June 2011

July 2013 PD is Oct. 2011

August 2013 is Current.

For me, They jump PD's during those times to accommodate Case Completed Filers. So My prediction for October VB is mid 2011 or early 2011. :(

But we will see who will get I/L for October interview and what's their priority date. Then we can predict what;s the cut off.

Don't worry. You'll get I/L last week of August (or at most first week of Sept). yes.gif
