We just had our interview on March 21. Everything went smoothly until the Filipina interviewer noticed that our NBI clearance was valid until January 2013. She took our passports and said we don't need to come again for another interview, then she told us to wait for the next interview. Then we went to the American interviewer. The American guy didn't asked too many questions; we swore and he asked our name, birthday, name of the petitioner, and then the fingers scanning - that was it. We were bothered because we haven't heard those glorious words and guessed that the NBI clearance was the problem. But then when we went to the releasing section, I thought it was only the NBI clearance but more documents were requested and they were all for my mother.

These were:

* Affidavit of Support (I-864)

* Income Tax Return

* W2 Forms

and additional "if necessary" papers like;

* Form I-864A(from joint sponsor and spouse/co-resident)

* Evidence of US. Citizenship or lawful permanent resident

* Evidence of current sustained income.

We immediately complied them and sent all the documents to 2GO this March 27 except for the joint sponsor(my mom said it won't be needed and I really hope she's right). My question is:

1. When will the documents arrive at the US Embassy?

2. After they received and issued a visa, when will the visa arrive? (estimate)

3. Will these greatly affect our chances to be issued a visa?

Thank you so much in advance! And just a little tip for the upcoming interviewees; please check the validity of your NBI clearance. A lot of people in the US Embassy had the same problem. And also pictures are greatly important. And most importantly be honest and talk less! The Filipina interviewer asked me why my brother and I didn't go there with my mom back in 2007 and I said because of financial problems where I should just said we intended to finish our high school here(although both were true, the main reason is we really wanted to finish high school here). Maybe that's the reason she's asking for so many financial related documents. So just answer honestly what is being asked nothing more nothing less.

Again thanks!

You can check your case status here: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023/case-status-online-check2.html

When you receive your visa, you will have to attend a Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar at CFO in Quirino and before departure pay the new immigrant visa fee of $165 each for you and your brother.

Instructions on how to pay the $165 will be included in your visa packet.

Do you think it's fine if I will be sending them scanned copies only of i-864, i-864a, w2, itr and stuffs?

Provide the original and updated documents with original signatures to the USEM.I was given 221g for presenting the scanned copy of those documents you mentioned.
