For those of you who are curious, it DOES appear that the expedite was due to my request, and was not just the "standard" Haiti expedite that is out for humanitarian reasons. The reason I say this is that I've been in contact with several people who are doing K-1 visas from Haiti & have been told that "expedite" is 2-3 months. I had my NOA2 8 days after my NOA1. Even for expedite, this seems to be incredibly fast.

While some people say that it doesn't matter if the materials are organized, I tend to think that might be one of the reasons that it went through so quickly. Not only was everything carefully marked & clipped together with post-it notes indicating each piece, dates & names highlighted & both surnames written on every page, but indexes & EXTRA proof of relationship made it incredibly clear of the relationship & intention.

Also, I will tell you the expedite was requested due to "Significant Financial Loss" (to the tune of thousands of dollars) if I had to re-do the school semester because of the delay. I will say, I am heartbroken that people dealing with very real illnesses, and those separated from their children, are taking nearly a year (or more) to process. It's not fair. I did not make this request to push anyone back, and when I made the request, I barely knew anything of the process, I just decided to try it and pray for the best.

My advice is this: be clear. Be well-organized. Be convincing and articulate and show MORE documentation than they need. Then pray! I have no idea why ours went through so fast other than a combination of these things.

My expedite request was as follows:

3-page letter carefully spelling out every detail of how the expedite was necessary, along with links, financial details and an index of supporting documentation.

School calendars for current & upcoming schedule showing the window when we would need to get married.

Photo-copy of school attendance policy showing that I would have to re-take the semester if I missed the needed days.

A print-off of my current schedule to show I'm a full-time student.

Financial aid award letter for the following year, showing dollar amount awarded.

School account summary for the current semester showing cost of tuition.

Official enrollment verification letter from the school, sealed & official.

Pay-stubs from work showing amount of potential lost wages.

Please understand, I am providing this information to assist those of you who do have legitimate expediting needs. Hopefully you will take my advice and be OVER-cautious, including everything you can possibly think of. Organization seems to go a long way. I hope that this information can be of help to someone.

On the other hand, I am not interested in hearing your criticism. If you do not like what was done, then you should take it up with the USCIS, not me. I only followed the instructions they gave. That is not harsh, that is reality.
