Hi there,

There is one such line in my wife's CR1 visa page:

"Upon Endorsement Serve as Temporary I-551 Evidencing Permanent Residence For 1 Year"

The entry stamp is:

"Applicant Advised of the Provisions of section 216 and of the procedures for having the conditional basis of his/her status removed"

I was thinking the entry stamp can serve as temporary green card before my wife receives the official one. But actually CR1 visa can serve this purpose. Am I right?

Anyway, can my wife use this combo to reenter US before receiving the 'real' green card? We are planning a trip soon....

thanks a lot!

The combination of the visa AND the endorsement you described DOES serve as evidence of permanent resident status for one year. The green card usually arrives within a month.

Yup, but this only works after she teaches you how to make steamed venison jiaozi.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Yes. the stamp just shows you've activated the temporary CR-1. It will let her re-enter the US as many times as she wants. It worked for us.

Welcome!

Done: I-130/CR-1, I-751/ROC

Done: I-327
