According to an email they sent me a link where we can fill the form and send it in but i want to delay the interview scheduling because im still laid off even though i have a co sponsor already! So my question is how long do i have until the petition expires or how long do i have to send off the DS-230?

in the NOA-2, the approval notice,

there was a date range for visa validity , that's the date range to apply for the visa.

However, IF you keep in touch with the IV unit in Manila (via email)

on a regular basis, they WILL give you up to one year to finish the visa processing there,

but you must contact them, stay in touch.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Good question Mike. I was talking to Mav about this last night.

My unemployment benefits end in 2 weeks and fortunately have sustained over the poverty line YTD. However, I know that the CO will want to see at least 3 months of Income earned by an employer is my guess meeting poverty line levels.

After the NOA2 it moves pretty fast. Our NOA2 was issued 31 days ago so assume it's in Manila now. (Scary, with no job yet.) I would'nt want to move forward myself proceeding with the process with no employment so I may have to ask for a delay as well.

Good Luck.

We always been in the same boat Mike. When I first joined VJ as a Newbie I asked alot of questions about not working. Also, many of my replies indicate the same. It's no secret.

Thats why I can relate so well to your Currant Position because it is just as mine.

It was not to Criticize you, it was because I understood that "We" will need more evidence at the time of our finacee's interview. Do you agree ?

I seen your posts: Your an Ex-Morgage Broker, I used to be a Stockbroker but sitting behind a desk was not my thing. Thats means we have aliitle intellegence. I hope :bonk: . Your post indicates a delay, this might be an Option for me as well?

Our last 3 years meet the Income Requirements but we both lack Proof of Currant Income. My Unemployment is BARELY above 125% but It will not be looked on as an Approval for Mav. Thats Common Sense.

I wish Success for you. So I wonder if your have triple checked a post you made a few months back about a Co-Sponsor.

You stated: The interview will be held in Jamaica. And They accept Co-Sponsors. But, She is Pinay and a Citizen of the Philippines. (Philippines rarely accept co-sponsors) As you know.

I remember the posts/replies to your questions indicated: She is a Philippine Citizen and the Embassy will let Philipphine Rules Govern. Hence; No Co-Sponsor allowed. Have you Triple Checked This Concern.

Even though she is in a different Country all her paperwork as far as Citizenship is in the Phils. I would have that concern.

Thanks ... I'll call NVC in the morning.

What did you learn when you called NVC ?

and

What's up with contacting or not contacting the Manila IV Unit, to ask about later scheduling ?

Question Darnell: What if I find work next week. Will 2 months employment say at $15.00 and hour suffice a 134 or wait? (full time) .
