I-129f petitioning fiance's adopted child question

Anyone with experience about petitioning fiance's adopted child please help answer these questions.

My fiance's adopted child is 7 years old. The child is a related family member whom's parents have died.

What's the success rate?

Would the added adopted daughter hinder my fiance's chance for petition?

At what level would my fiance need to show proof of legal adoption?

Thanks in advance.

I'm no expert here but the answer points to obtaining a new Lao Family Registry Booklet. Every family has one. Therefore if your fiancee adopts a child, he/she should have one. You can have this done, or inquire with you fiance's village chief or hire someone to assist your fiancee for a fee.

When you fill out the I-129f, make sure you include your fiancee's children's name under Part B, question 13.

The success rate is as good as anyone without a child. The legal proof you need is from the Lao government documents such as the above (Lao Registry Book), child birth certificate. GL

The child is an orphan, and legally adopted in her country? Shouldn't have any trouble getting the visa.

It will hinder nothing and her chance of success is 100%

List the child's name on the I-129f. When she goes for her and the child's visa interview she will bring the child's adoption papers. As long as the child is her legally adopted child there will be no problem.

You will have to provide a separate I-134 for the child and meet the requirements for a family of 3.

Ahhh the I-134 form for child... thanks for the reminder.

@ shin8651, yes, the lao family registry booklet. the child is included in there, the only problem may be her name is in laotian script. whereas on the I-129F, I listed her name in latin text (there's no other place to use her laotian name). hopefully this will not be an issue at a later date
