I'm not sure that they reply to emails if they don't have the current code.

They get deleted right away. I tried it and this is what happened with mine. :( The code they give is a weekly code and unless it has a valid code it gets deleted (thats what the guy told me on the 'extortion line' anyway).

1990(-ish): Family Holiday to FL. Met Nicole & family.

1990(-ish) - 1992(-ish): A few return visits

08-09/2007: Go back to FL. Meet with 'the folks' & Accept that we both 'like' each other & start dating.

02/2008 - Present: ...go back to FL again a few times.

09/2009: Propose and she says 'Yes'! :D

11/06/2009: I-129F posted to VSC

11/07/2009: I-129F received at VSC

11/09/2009: NOA1

11/13/2009: Touch

12/2009: ...back to FL once again

03/08/2010: Touch & NOA2 (119 Days)

03/11/2010: NVC have my case

03/12/2010: NVC incorrectly assigned & dispatched case to Dublin, not London!

03/18/2010: Package arrived in Dublin

03/19/2010: Ring Dublin and get case transferred to London

04/01/2010: London Sent 'P3'

04/03/2010: I Received 'P3'

04/14/2010: 'P3' sent back to embassy

04/16/2010: 'P3' recieved at embassy

04/29/2010: Medical - Passed

06/17/2010: Interview - In AP (220 Days)

08/17/2010: AP Finished - Approved

Halifax is wayyy better than Huddersfield though! I'm not sure that da hud could get much worse :) I think that maybe the two people who were left over from January were anomalies. I hope so. I'm the same about not wanting to ring the extortion line. The RFE was just annoying - for some reason they want to apply to the NZ police directly for a police cert even though the checklist tells us that we HAVE to already have a certificate from each country before we send it in. Go figure - I just sent the letter back signed and told them that I already have the certificate. It will just delay the process even more I guess.

Yay to everyone who has received an interview date or your visas this week

I HOPE the two from January are anomalies...maybe they had RFE's or something too & that's what held them up... :(

Good luck getting the police certificate sorted, and good luck to all of us...waiting for interview dates, waiting for visas, or at any other stage of this seemingly endless process

Just received packet 4 / appointment date letter through the post and I was intending on taking my mum/stepdad (who's a U.S citizen) to the interview with me to keep me company, however on the letter it states - " if you need to bring a carer, translator or U.S Citizen spouse/fiance(e) to assist you during your time at the embassy, please send us their full names as soon as possible so that we may arrange their access to the embassy."

So does this apply to anyone I bring with me to the embassy, or just thoes that are involved with the visa application?

Thanks!

Anyone. That being said, I had written on the ds2001 (all three of them) that I was going to be there and had written it in the email when I changed my date. My name wasn't on either of our sets of appointment letters. Supposedly there is a list that anyone not being interviewed has to have their name on to get in. The people at the first check station verified my identity and wrote my name on one of the three letters to get me in. They didn't seem bothered, and they did not consult any list. They will both need to have their US passports with them.

Welcome. June 8th is the date we're probably moving. If I get on the ball and book our tickets! :D

Ah that clears it up thanks!

Im also assuming im going to have to fork out for the new visa fee ($350) rather than the old price, even through we started before they changed it? Oh, and can I take a book in with me to read while I wait.. they didn't mention it on the website lol

Thanks again

Congrats MJM!

I'm not sure about your price I had to pay $400x3 for a CR1 and two CR2s. It was painful to sign that credit card slip!

The website says no backpacks, but there were people there with them. I took a large purse type thing for my documents and snacks, my daughter took a fairly large purse. We all took books and sandwiches and snacks. I've heard that if you take drink in they ask you to drink some in the security booth before they let you in. We didn't want to be dealing with that (times the 4 of us), plus the extra weight on the underground, so I bought us all drinks in there. A bottle of water is £1. They have canned sodas for .80p I think. I've seen worse prices. They also have crisps and premade/prepackaged sandwiches.

I do recall seeing a man in there we a Tesco's bag. He then sat down and took his sandwich out and started eating. I took a magazine but to be honest I couldn't concentrate. I was too scared I'd get into the articles and miss my number.

I'm excited for all these interview dates coming through now. Good luck everyone!!

Archeon, you made it over here. Welcome :)

Quick question regarding tax returns for the evidence of support:

I have the originals - It says it requires a notarised copy, so I presume anything I give them for evidence of support, they keep? Or can I give them the original and expect to see it back once it has been looked over to save me a rediculous notarizing fee?
