This may seem a silly question but on the check list that you sent back did you state the countries of where you got the police certificates from, as that is one of the things they ask for. Hope it sorts out for you soon, it's driving me mad all this waiting!

Yes, I did say NZ and UK. Hence they know that I need a NZ one too. The NZ form asks if it's for a visa and which county but NZ does have the Clean Slate Act which wipes any convictions that someone has if it's been a certain amount of time, so maybe the US doesn't trust NZ police certs unless they received them directly to their office.

I'm finding this waiting part really hard.

I understand. {hugs} I am not a good "waiter" in the best situations - the doctor's office, the post office, anywhere! - but this constant waiting for the next step is killer. I was just looking back on our timeline, and we mailed our first document Nov 6th I think. It's been waiting since then. And even now, there is the waiting until we move, because our lives are in limbo. And even when we finally do move, then there is still in the back of my mind that we need to remember the AOS in 22 months ($$$), and hopefully naturalization in 36 months ($$$). And then their UK passports need renewing in 5 years ($$$), and by then hopefully they'll be US citizens, so those passports will need to be renewed ($$). I have lists and timelines and reminders in the computer. It never ends, the waiting and the expense.

Hi guys,

I seem to remember seeing an 'interview checklist' of some sort on VJ somewhere, with pink dots to mark what's required etc....I could be way off on the details, and apologies for being vague, but hopefully someone knows what i'm talking about and can point me in the right direction.

I can't for the life of me track it down now, so some help please! I just remember it being really useful when I read it...

Come to think of it, it might not even have been for interviews, but I guess i'll find out if I can just locate the thing. Cheers all!

Exactly, it's 1 step forward, two steps back. The Paula Abdul song should be the VJ theme tune!

Well, the most expensive standard letter I've ever sent has been posted. Royal Mail exhorted £5.05 out of me to get the letter back to the US embassy by 1pm tomorrow
