The customs guard looked at all my paper work and asked me to follow him. He apologized for taking me to the interview room but said it was procedure on a K1 entry. I said in the waiting room and waited to be called. I was called and asked why I was here, I answered "I am marrying my fiance" and he stamped by passport and sent me on my way. No drama, just extra waiting! |

Took less than 10 minutes. A few questions and went to a special room for checking my documents. |

Entered with a K1, did the same line as everyone else going in on a tourist visa, they looked through my package there and then took me to a different room where I had to sit and wait until they returned my passport to me. No questions asked but I was waiting for a long time. |

I think Covid slowed things down somewhat. Basically took just under 5yrs from initial application to receiving green card. At the time of the green card interview they still wanted more proof of a relationship, Inspite of already having been married just under 5 yrs! We are not one of those couples that takes lots of photos together or travels a lot. Luckily we have friends who’s son is an aide to a state senator and I think that sped things up at the final post |

I first had to stand in the normal queue for tourist visas and after providing my fingerprints, photograph and paperwork I had to wait in a separate waiting area. The officer explained everything to me and I was good to go. Overall wait at waiting area was about 15/25 minutes. Time in queue was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. |
