We arrived in Houston, Texas on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at around 6:30 PM. We went through Immigration were they scanned both of our passports, took the packet and his passport and told us to wait behind the counter. About 3 minutes later another officer came up and took my fiances packet and passport and asked how old he was. He replied: 28 and told me that he was old enough and asked me to wait behind the roped off area while they took him back and went through his packet. So I waited from about 7:25 to 7:50 for him to come out thinking they were grilling him and asking him all kinds of questions, but they weren't, they were very nice (One White Female and One Black Female). When he got out he said they where very nice to him, he said that was the easiest process with the nicest people out of the whole process from the medical to the interview to picking up his paperwork. They were interested in him because he was from Jamaica and asking him personal questions for their interest, they even said they were coming to the wedding. They gave him advice on our relationship (never go to bed mad at her, never leave your wife, etc.). Then they introduced him to another Immigration Officer who was actually Jamaican (Male) and they talked (Speaking their language of Patwah) for a little while and that was it. We went through Customs after we got our bag and that was it. |

Entered through Houston arriving at the same time as a couple of other 747's so immigration was swamped. Waited for about 1.5 hrs to reach the boarder control guard. He was relatively friendly asking what I was doing here, if I had a job etc (felt like testing to see if I knew the visa conditions). I then was sent to the immigration room for "further processing" which is normal. Only though there was many people in there so took a long time. Finally got called to come forward, first thing was who opened the package whom I said the border control guy did (seemed like he shouldn't have done), he gave me some blah about it shouldn't be opened of which I said I knew and that's why I protected it like my life depended on it all the way over here! He was fine and then asked a few other questions like what I intended to do and did I know the next steps etc. NOTE DO NOT USE YOUR MOBILE PHONE IN THE ROOM - THEY WILL CONFISCATE IT!! All in all around three hours to get from the plane to get to my fiancee (remember if connecting you need to do the full process and re-check bags - allow at least 3 hours). |

Female K1 went before us and no questions. He was asked several questions, and I was questioned on my handwriting vs the address on my license. :( Accused of writing a different address on the declaration form. |

Easy... a little waiting time, but very organised and quite straightforward. |
