We arrived at Denver International since we had a connecting flight on COPA from Panama and Colorado is our home state. The Immigration Officer was very friendly, welcomed me back and welcomed Luisa to the USA. He also congratulated us on our upcoming wedding. The whole process took less than 5 minutes. I far prefer DIA to any other major US entry airport. |

Got selected for an Agricultural screening but the officer just briefly opened my bags and said I'm all good to go.
In and out in about 20 minutes. |

When we arrived in Miami there was nobody in line. Not one soul. Told the officer that we had a CR1 visa. He took both of our photos using the Webcam. He just asked me what was my relationship to my wife (cr1 holder). We both were taken to secondary. Didn't even have to sit at in the waiting room. Took us immediately. Asked to see our marriage certificate and verify the address for the green card.. Within 2 minutes she was stamped as IR1 and told us to leave, basically.
Where it got frustrating was when we approached the officer near the baggage handlers. He was very rude. Spoke Spanish to my wife and because I didn't do anything, because I didn't understand him, He yelled at me. My wife told him I didn't speak spanish. Then he gave me incomplete directions in English. Because they were not clear. I didn't know what to do and then with a condescending attitude asked if I understood English.
Because we had two cats with us, we went through extra screening. Nothing illegal was found. Paperwork was in order and we were released.
I wish the immigration was a little easier on us because it left a bad taste in my wife's mouth with their attitude. I just told her that most of them have a chip on their shoulder and that's the last time you will have to deal with those particular ass hats.

12/18 Went to SSA in Myrtle Beach and told that my wife's information has not been sent to their computers even after checking the box on the DS-260. Was told to wait a little longer.
12/27 Went back to the SSA office and had them manually apply for the SSA card.
Moral of the Story:
Don't believe that the government will follow through. If you want something done correct, you must do it yourself.
Give it a week and go to the SSA office with SS5 (filled out), Passport with Visa and endorsement stamp and foreign birth certificate with translations (if not in english) and file it ASAP!

RECIEVED GREEN CARD ON FEB 3RD, 2024. 58 DAYS AFTER POE ENTRY.
RECIEVED THE 10 YEAR IR1 GREEN CARD. |
