Andriana & Matthew Los Angeles 2018-06-24 No Yes - High I've entered US 4 times but this would be my first entering through LAX customs. It was fun. I reached the airport from Sydney at 7am, I entered customs alone. I joined the non-citizens/ESTA line, but was told to skip the machines and have a declaration form ready. It was a busy period at that time, so I was in line for an hour. I went up to the counter and told the person that I was entering on a visa for the first time. I gave him my passport, plane ticket to Omaha, declaration form, the unopened package US Embassy of Singapore gave me, and medical and vaccinations records. He picked up the phone and called someone to ask if he had to process my entry on his own. He asked me questions such as how we met, how long do we know each other, why am I migrating to U.S. instead of him migrating to Singapore and what is our age difference. I answered him truthfully including that it was more practical for me to migrate as opposed to vice versa and truthfully told him the reasons why when he asked me to elaborate on that. I had my fingerprints and photo taken there. And then he kept all the documents I passed to him and told me to wait by the side, where the queues are. This whole process was less than 10 minutes. I waited for another less than 10 minutes and another officer came and he was super kind and sweet. He led me to another counter at the side which was empty. He passed me back my medical and vaccination records and and told me he didn't need these and he also didn't like CDs(my X-ray that was given to me). He asked me if I was sure I wanted to get married, I didn't hesitate, I said yeah. And he mentioned that he knew his wife for 7 years before they got married instead of the less than two years I knew my fiance. I told him that I'm the sort who believes in getting married first and dealing with everything together. I also told him that I've been through enough boys to know when I'm looking at the one. Then he commented that I look young, and I was like yes I am, my brother expressed the same worry too. He then told me that my documents look very complete and I may go. This part was 5 minutes. And that was it. I am writing this at 3A.M., remarkably jetlagged and worrying a small bit about the desserts for my simple wedding that's in two weeks. At least I got the photography and videography part settled. 2018-11-01
