CBP Officer asked me about my situation whilst in the elevator on the way to being processed. Informal chat but still nerve wracking at such an important time. If was fun taking care of the large envelope stamped US Official Business during the flight. I even took the thing to the bathroom with me. Probably looked really shady lol. Didn't sleep a wink on the way, couldn't wait to see my wife again. |

If you're on a K1 visa, DO NOT ask for an EAD stamp. All Jake asked was, "Am I able to get a work authorization stamp here or do I have to file--I am not sure?" and the officer said, "NOOOO. You have to file--but you asked for a reason. DO NOT WORK." And Jake said, "OK, I'm sorry I just genuinely didn't know." "Well you asked for a reason," he kept saying but he let him go on his merry (or MARRY ;) ) way.
Other than that, Jake said it was super quick. He was finished in half an hour and transferred to his connecting flight in another terminal after 45 minutes of deplaning. |
