We went through Customs around 7:30AM at Dulles. As many others here on Visa Journey said, we decided to go through the US Citizens line, which was empty. Both had passports in hands and me (Carolina) had also the brown envelope to hand to the officer.
The officer was very friendly, checked Matt's passport first, and we told him that I was going through the K1. He checked my passport, stamped it, staple the I-94 to it, took my fingerprints, and opened the brown envelope with my information, documents and forms there. Signed and we were good to go.
Very easy and smooth, very nice officer and all is good now. Ready for the next step! |

The officer seemed very unsure of how to process a K-1 entry, which made me rather worried that something would be done wrong.
He was polite and friendly throughout my time at his desk and was calling out to colleagues either side of him to make sure he was doing eveything correctly.
He welcomed me to the US and I was finally here. |

Point of entry went very smoothly. Took the non stop flight from Moscow to Washington DC. It was 1/3 of the price of US carriers.
Flight was on time.
Immigration lines were not excessive. When Sasha presented her envelope "the big secret" she was quickly sent to the special immigration area. (There were many people waiting there for additional screening from mainly from the Istanbul flight). ]
Sasha was seen quite quickly with only a few non intrusive questions followed by "welcome to the United states and sorry you had to wait". Very kind indeed. |

Relatively painless. I took her with me to the USC side, no complaints. The immigrations officer took several minutes to open our envelope, find the right form, and write down some info. He made some casual conversation, and asked when our wedding date was. He said he didn't need her X-rays. |

The Immigration officer was nice. He just opened the enveloped, checked my papers, took my fingerprints and told me welcome to the United States. |
