When I got to the airport in Chicago, and went through immigration and they checked all the documents from the Embassy in Stockholm, it turned out that the Embassy hadn't enclosed the medical examination documents, so the immigration officer wouldn't let me in. I was put in holding for around 2 hours, until they figured out what to do. Finally they came back and said it was all settled, and I was free to go. I don't know what went on, but I am just happy they let me in. But the officers there were nice to me. |

Wife and step-son entered US on July 1. No action on Green Cards until I called USCIS (about July 23). Cards issued July 25, rec'd July 30. Social Sec. Cards should have been generated automatically; they weren't - we had to apply locally. Wife's card came within 3 days. |
