To begin, I was there to pick up Natalia from her flight at IAD airport on December 16, 2009. I arrived early well before her 5pm arrival but they kept her for another 2 whole hours at customs! They were rude and kept sending her back and forth to the windows and all over the place. I was waiting for her plane to come in and it did...and the time went by. No Natalia. So I walked over to a customs officer, flowers in hand but since he was just getting off his shift he just shrugged off all my questions when I asked about my "missing fiancee." Natalia appeared later (much later, after I was in a state of extreme anxiety and panic) and explained that the customs officers were giving her "the evil eye" and didn't believe her story of a fiance waiting for her at the airport. (Despite the fact that all her documents, medical papers and her USA entry visa was in order) To put a cherry on top of the whole experience at the airport terminal they ripped into the side of Natalia's luggage and tore it beyond repair. What a "wonderful" start of a life's journey. A terrible example of a welcoming committee for others coming to this USA port of entry. Steer well clear of this POE if you want your loved ones to be treated fairly and to remain hassle-free. |

After POE when I went to get SSN I found out that officer did not enter my last name correctly in the system.. so when I went to the nearest airport to the department of homeland security to make the changes, I also found out that officer made one more mistake.. he wrote in the system that my K1 visa expires 1 month earlier than it should.
So one advice for everyone.. Always ask officer to check twice informations that he enters in the system, so that you wont have problems later. |

Dorval international aiport official did not give me a Form 94, told me I did not need it. WRONG! Make sure you insist on one if you go through this airport. You need it for Social Security. I had to file a 102 with my AOS. The border official's name was Mr FINK. Honestly! How fitting! |
