Calais, ME/St Stephen, NB land crossing
Saturday, 5/30/2015, arrived at 4pm
Crossed with our dog and a car full of stuff. Overall took 1 hour, but most of that was filling out the form to import the car. Review of the visa was around 15-20 minutes. There was no one else there and they let us bring our dog inside. Several of the officers spent some time petting the dog and giving her treats! :)
Everyone was so kind and friendly. No harassment whatsoever. Didn't ask to see the dog's vet certificate, didn't search the car, didn't ask about any of our belongings. Said congratulations a couple times, welcome to the US, and that our dog was very well behaved and a nice treat to see her.

went through Ogdensburg,NY Border on a Sunday and took about 90 minutes for the lady to process us.I don't think she had done to many in her lifetime. |

The border guards got nasty when i tried to take my visa info with me for "just in case" near vehicle.
Once inside we had to wait for a few and then the guard called is up but made no eye contact and was making conversation with another guard about television stuff.
They opened file and checked on computer. Stamped his visa/passport and off we went.
We spent time making a materials manifest because we had a uhaul and all of his belongings. They never looked at manifest and had no interest in the contents of his things. |

Was held up for almost 2 hours at the border (drove myself over hehe), however everyone was very friendly and polite. Just had to patiently wait for my turn to hand in my brown envelope! |

Crossed at Portal North Dakota took about 30 to 45 minutes. CBP officers were very nice and worked quickly. |

My husband and I drove from Ontario to the Lewiston, New York border. My husband told the border officer that he wanted to activate his visa, so then we parked and went inside. We waited about 20 minutes and then he was called. He signed some papers, gave fingerprints, and then was given his CR-1 stamp in his passport. Very easy and now he's home! |

brought to secondary inspection area, officer went to the back office, seemed to walk from one end of the hall to the other end of the hall (i assumed he checked my information), and told me welcome to the US. |
