We packed everything into my Ford minivan and left on the evening of December 14 and stayed overnight at a Best Western in Sarnia.
At about 11AM the next day, we crossed at Port Huron Blue Water Bridge. We were in line for about 30 minutes before it was our turn. Since I did not get my automatic window fixed, Roland had to open the door to talk to the CBP lady. She was not very happy about this and asked how long it was broken for. Anyway, she took our passports and the K1 Visa package and gave us this little orange slip and asked us to drive to the secondary inspection area where all the offices were. We were told to leave our cell phones and take our wallets with us and surrendered our keys to the officers.
There wasn't much of a line at this point and one officer took our case. Then he passed it onto another officer who took care of our car import. In all, this took about 1 1/2 hours to complete
All in all, a good experience! Hello USA! |

I will be crossing at the Grand Portage location near Thunder Bay, On. I haven't seen any reviews for this POE, so I hope that they are nice when processing me to enter the States. |

They took my fingerprints but who knows why. I already gave them in Montreal.
The border was fine and the people were friendly. |
