There are 3 parts from going through the Seattle Customs:
A> Baggage Claim
B> Queue for Customs*
C> Secondary Interview**
* You can get faster customs check in Seattle if you have MPC (Mobile Passport Control).
MPC link:** [https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/mobile-passport-control](https://www.cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/mobile-passport-control)
Questions I was asked by the CBP officer:
1. What visa do you have?
2. Show all materials associated with your K-1 visa.
3. Are you bringing any fruits, meat, or seeds?
4. How much cash are you carrying? Include all currencies.
5. Are you carrying any alcoholic beverages?
6. Look at the camera — they will take a photo.
7. You are a K-1 visa holder, so you will need a secondary interview**.
Secondary Interview**
1. How long have you known your fiancé?
2. How did you meet each other?
3. What do you like most about your fiancé?
4. What kind of person is he?
5. How did your relationship develop?
6. What did you do when you were previously in the U.S.?
7. Your university major is XX — why did you choose this?
8. After getting married, do you plan to work in China again?
9. Have you worked in China before? How much did you earn per month? Generally, how much can people in your industry earn?
10. After arriving in the U.S., when do you plan to get married?
11. After arriving in the U.S., will you look for a job?
12. Let me see your photos.
13. Is your U.S. address XXX?
14. Okay, I will give your envelope with missing corner materials to USCIS. Remember, you must get married within 90 days and submit your AOS. I hope you enjoy your time in the U.S.
The conversation was super fun and the CBP officer was super cool and nice. He also helped me for my next flight transition. Overall it was a good experience. |

I went with Poc into the Visitor line, and there was no wait. We were processed by a young female officer who was friendly and efficient. She asked me where I worked and asked Poc if she can speak english (a littung bit,Poc said). The officer tore open the brown envelope and I could see the contents were all the paperwork I had turned into CSC and also the day of the interview. After flapping thru the paperwork, the officer took fingerprints and a photo of Poc, reminded us to get married within 90 days and congratulated both of us. After we grabbed our bags, we lined up for customs inspection. The customs officer asked us how much US Dollars we had total. Then he asked if we had any food (only some cashews) and that was it, we did not need to go thru customs inspection!! Took about 15-20 minutes. |
