Sadly, I could not go in and I was the one who did all the paperwork. So, we were given a list of things I had to get to prove residency in Washington. I had to move with my 3 young children for 2 months, get all the paperwork and submit it. Did not have to return to Montreal in person. Then it was approved. I literally had all the things they needed before; the only extra things living there got me were a Washington drivers license and proof my son was in school there. I feel like they are making it harder than it needs to be, as officially you are supposed to be able to move concurrently with your immigrant spouse. It’s all for a reason though.
