WL & OA Canada Nebraska No Montreal, Canada 2014-02-11 2014-02-18 2014-07-17 2014-08-12 2015-09-19 2015-09-25 2015-09-28 2015-09-26 2015-10-22 2015-10-26 2015-12-31 2002-12-09 618* I finally entered the USA through Niagara falls and got the entry stamp next to the immigrant visa representing a one year valid green card stamp utill I get my green card In the mail within 1 to 2 months aND beyond. The border officer took the sealed package, opened it, finger prints were taken then said that the package will be forwarded to the USCIS to issue the green card. The whole process took about 15 minutes, nice staff. You may think why it took 600 days to get to my interview? The reason is that I got a chick list and it was on my end that I didn't rush things to finish as i was busy working. First I was asked for a police certificate,I provided one from the police station. It turned out that I had to get the long national search one with fingerprints from the RCMP. Second I was asked for a new AOS since my wife and her cosponsor put their info instead of my info in one question. Finally I was asked for a police certificate from overseas sine I lived outside canada when I was 18 and it took 4 months to get that alone. Other than that if everything went fine I would have had my interview a lot earlier. My advice about the AOS. They have an updated form now that says the date 2017 on the top right corner. It asked for more details than the one before with the 2015 on top. Read it carefully and read the filling instructions guide in the uscis AOS site, also you will find a lot of help searching the Visajourney forums listed according to your case. Good luck to all 2016-08-05

Approximately a 2 hr length of time from the time I got the the USA Consulate in Montreal until I was finished. All went well until the CO noticed one of my report cards in my file. He asked why it was in there and I explained to substantiate my surnames. I have had 4 surnames because my Mom was married twice and I was/am married twice. So, he asked, how many names, and, why and what were they and why my police certificate only showed one name (my current surname). I told him I did bring this to the attention of the Clerk who ran the criminal check and her response was this is the way they have always done it and there's been no problems. I wasn't comfortable with her explanation, however, I did notice that after my current name, she had put all name(s) have been run through the system , blah, blah blah. The CO got a bit snippy and said, well, who are you going to believe, them, or, us, we are the one who make the rules. He then told me that I was going to have to get finger printed through the RCMP. I was about panic stricken by then and asked if I could do it then (was about to hail a cab and go to the nearest RCMP office and beg them to run my finger prints and give me my report). About that time I started to sweat and not because I was having another hot flash, and, I started to pray. The CO asks me again if I have ever lived out of Canada and I replied no. He then told me to put my right hand on the scanner and then he asked if I had ever been charged with criminal activities, and, once again I replied no. All this time he's typing madly on the computer. He jumps up, with my police certificate in hand, goes to walk out of his little cubicle, then sits back down, scribbles on my file, and basically throws the welcome letter at me and tells me to watch my emails for when my visa can be picked up from the courier. No smile, no welcome, nothing. No matter, I was still elated. My medical was a breeze, nice Dr but can't remember his name. He said that almost every medical he has done for immigration is for people who have meet through the internet. Haha. So, word of advice to anyone who has had more than 2 surnames. When you get your police certificate, MAKE SURE THEY HAVE ALL NAMES LISTED AS BEING CHECKED, AND, POSSIBLY BE PRO-ACTIVE AND GET A FINGER PRINT DONE JUST TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. I stayed @ the Travelodge only 3 blocks down from the Consulate. The ONLY THING good about it was the location. So, I'm done now until it comes time to file the I-751. Sheesh, as if we haven't filed enough, right?! Oh well, c'est la vie. Soon I will be living full time with my husband. Baruch HaShem, bless the Name of GOD. Wishing everyone all the best. Warmest regards from Canada 2019-01-08
