By the time lines were formed but those were for applicants having appointments before 8:00. Her appointment was at 8:30. By 8:10 she was asked to enter the line. And in another 15 mins or so, she got in. First they did the scanning and send her through a metal detector. Then she was asked to wait at an area like a lounge. It looked like they were trying send immigrant visa applicants as batches of 3-4. After waiting for another 10 mins she received the token and was asked to hold all the documents ready. Again a short wait for the number to be called. Shortly her number was displayed on the screen and at the counter they asked for the preferred language. Then asked for the different documents and for the originals. She informed the officer that the originals were submitted at NVC and hence provided the copies. At this counter, the indian officer asked the below questions 1. What is your fathers name? 2. What is your mothers name? 3. What are the full name of both your grand parents? 4. Is this the first time you are applying for the visa? 5. Have you ever been traveled abroad? 6. How long your husband been in the US? Then the officer handed over the form regarding the domestic violence and asked her to go through it and expect questions from the other officer. After 10 minutes, she was called to another counter, this time an American officer. He asked her to take the oath and started asking 1. Who is calling you? 2. What is his full name? 3. How long he has been in the US? 4. What does he do for a living? 5. What is the location of his company ? 6. How were you guys got introduced? 7. How many people attended the wedding? Then he said the magic words, "Congratulations and the visa is approved!" He also informed the passport can be picked up at the selected location in 3-5 and reminded about the $165 to be paid before she enter the states. I also wanted to mention about a snack bar inside the waiting area. But she didn't find any photo booths inside. Overall it went well. The entire process took an hours and half and she left the consulate by 10:00. 2017-05-03

Took us a long time to get information on our "missing I-130". Neither NVC nor USCIS would confirm or deny what happened. The ONLY solution to a missing I-130 is to call your congressman/senator as they have higher level access and can help you track down your file. We are back on track as of May 23, 2013 which also happened to be our Anniversary! So it was a nice gift! Received an AOS Checklist on 07/02/2013 which we replied to on 07/03/2013. AOS was reviewed on 07/22/2013 and case was completed on 07/24/2013. However, AOS was checklisted again and they asked us to bring the correct version to the interview. 2013-10-09
