Jose & Katie Costa Rica Texas No Costa Rica 2006-11-28 2006-11-28 2006-11-28 2006-12-19 2006-12-27 2007-01-02 2006-10-07 21* DCF at San Jose embassy. Entire process took about a month (after you have your official marriage certificate...which takes about 2 months to get in CR)!! I highly reccommend DCF (if you are already married) because he/she should receive their border stamp and a SSN card within a few weeks after arrival in the U.S. We had a slight problem between our second interview and getting the visa. They said a person with a similar name was a criminal in the U.S. and so they said Jose needed an additional background check which took about a week. 2007-07-30
