My EAD was delayed due to USCIS in Portland not being swift in mailing me a biometrics appointment.
After waiting 2 months from filing I called USCIS to check on the application and they had to forward a request to the Portland office to make an appointment for me, it took over 2 weeks to hear back with an appointment date and the appointment was 3 weeks from when I received the letter.
After completing my biometrics and waiting a further 4 weeks I called again to ask why my EAD was taking so long to process and a request was sent to the service center (MSC) to check on my application as it was outside of normal processing times, 3 days later my EAD was approved.
My advice if anything similar happens to you is to call if you have not had your biometrics appointment within 30 days of applying, call them anytime there is a delay because nobody else is going to help you out but yourself. |
