In just two months I went through my biometrics appointment and my interview will be next month. This might be a record. *Update: My interview was in October and I passed! Just recently I got my Oath Ceremony date, it will be in December. It has been a very long journey since 2016. After I get my new passport, I'll be so relieved to never have to deal with long frustrating applications. I'm finally going to be a full-fledged American citizen. *Final update: The ceremony was quick. Because of Covid, only 10 people were allowed in and the whole ceremony only lasted maybe 10 to 15 minutes. I did get a chance to take a picture with the judge, of course keeping my distance and wearing a mask. I was really happy they had a live-streaming video going. I waved to my family and friends while I was leaving. Well, this is it. I'm now an American citizen. The whole process took about 5 months. Really fast compared to my other applications. Time to start a new life with my hubby, friends, and my awesome new job. Final, final note: I decided to apply for my new American passport and I chose to expedite the process as my dad hasn't been feeling well lately and I may have to rush to see him. I received my passport around 3 weeks after my application was sent. However, my important documents were not sent back till 7 weeks after I received my passport. I was getting really worried about this. Glad I finally got everything back. I'm now completely done with all my paperwork and very thankful it is all finally over. 2022-11-13
