We may also schedule you for another interview, you will receive a notice in the mail. Otherwise, a final decision will be mailed once your case is complete." 2019-09-23: Called Rome, NY Police Department on how to obtain a Police Clearance (out of state) 2019-09-24: Went to Maryland Fingerprint Livescan in Glen Burnie, MD to obtain Police/Criminal Record History document from Maryland ($58.00) 2019-09-26: Received a letter from the Rome Police Department stating that I have no record or was ever the subject of an investigation by the Department 2019-09-27: Went to IDENTOGO Fingerprint Services in Baltimore, MD to obtain Police/Criminal Record History document from New York through NYS Div of Criminal Justice Services ($93.00 since it is out of state) 2019-10-01: Went to the Philippine Embassy in Washington, DC to obtain NBI Form 5 2019-10-04: Received complete Police/Criminal Record history documents from NYS Div of Criminal Justice Services (New York) 2019-10-05: Sent NBI Clearance application documents to the Philippines to be processed by a family member 2019-10-14: Received complete Police/Criminal Record history documents from the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (Maryland) 2019-10-28: Received NBI Clearance from the Philippines 2019-10-29: Sent all documents to USCIS through UPS 2019-11-01: UPS lost the documents and opened an investigation 2019-11-02: Sent another set of documents to USCIS through FedEx 2019-11-04: USCIS received the documents from FedEx 2019-11-06: UPS called to inform that they found the documents and sent it to USCIS 2019-11-06: USCIS received the documents from UPS 2020-01-25: Received From G-56 Call-In Letter dated January 22, 2020, to appear before Office Thomas regarding the Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status and bring Passport, Work Authorization Card, State ID and certified original/certified copies of Police Clearance Records on February 12, 2020, at 10:00 AM 2020-02-12: Appeared before IO Thomas with my husband. IO said that they have received my documents but it was not in my file. Submitted police clearance records to IO. After this, we were sworn in. Answered IO's questions related to police records. Questions were: 1. Have you ever been arrested or detained by a law enforcement officer? I answered No. 2. Have you had your fingerprints taken for any reason by a law enforcement officer? I answered No. The IO asked me again about this because she had put in the answer as Yes. I explained to her that my fingerprints were taken by USCIS during my biometrics, as well as local fingerprinting services by a fingerprint technician who then submits the documents to a local government office/FBI for a background check so I can produce the Police Clearance Records they asked of me, but was never done by a law enforcement officer. 3. Have you ever been issued a ticket or been taken into custody by a law enforcement officer? I answered No. 4. Have you ever been ordered by a court to: pay a fine; go to jail; serve a probationary sentence; perform community service; make restitution, or have your wages garnished? I answered No. 5. Have you ever received an expungement, parole, pardon, or successfully completed a diversion or rehabilitation program? I answered No. After I was asked the questions, she gave me a copy of the Record of Sworn Statement (Fingerprints) with my answers. She then asked me to sign it with another IO as a witness. She then said she cannot approve the application right away because she needs to update the records in the system and it may take time. She told us to check the case online. She also advised us to update my police clearance records as we go through the process (in the future) because of the fingerprinting/biometrics issue. After our appointment, I checked the USCIS case status: 'Response to USCIS' Request for Evidence Was Received' February 12, 2020 The previous status was 'Interview was Scheduled' August 16, 2019. 2020-02-26: Case was approved (via case status online)	2024-05-06
