We had an officer in training so a second officer was also in the room. They asked us questions that were on the original application and asked us how we met. Overall it was an easy process. 2019-11-15

We waited 485 days start-to-finish, which felt like an awful long time. The interview itself went fine. We only were called about a half hour after our scheduled time. Our immigration officer was efficient and all business. We went through all of the yes/no questions on the forms, confirmed some dates from our relationship, then talked about our relationship history, with some fun anecdotes that even had the officer cracking a smile and chuckling along with us. They asked to see financial/insurance documents, and we gave our jointly filed 2018 tax return, last 3 months of joint checking account statements, health insurance with both of us listed as beneficiaries, renter's insurance, current lease with both our names, and auto insurance with both our names. We brought a whole photo album that we were prepared to share but he didn't even ask to see the photos (maybe the photos submitted with our application were sufficient). Then, shocking both ourselves and our lawyer, the green card was approved right on the spot! Come prepared, don't be nervous, and you'll do fine! 2021-09-17

Then asked questions about how we met, what our wedding was like, how many people came, when we met each other’s families, etc. Verified info about my spouse’s work background, family’s names, and address, then asked all the yes/no questions on the form. At the end, told us she couldn’t approve because she needed to do background checks, but that we’d get a decision in the mail. She didn’t ask to see any of the documents we brought with us. We got an RFE in the mail a few days later that was sent the day of our interview asking for the non-translated version of a birth certificate, which we brought to the interview, but was not asked for then. I don't think they have much time to review the packets before the interviews. Sent in the response to the RFE the next day (10/29) with one-day shipping. Never got any online update, so called on 11/7 and said case was approved 11/6. 2019-11-15
