My US Citizen husband and I went to the Fairfax (Washington DC) office yesterday for our AOS interview. We were let into the building exactly 15 minutes before our interview time, got through security and made our way up the elevator to the 2nd floor. There we waited for about 20-30 minutes in a bright but sparsely decorated waiting room, which had chairs spaced 6 feet apart for social distancing - but there were a few pairs of chairs close together for couples like us!
A lady called my name, and we were asked to follow her to her office for the interview. After making an oath to tell the truth, the first thing we did was go through the AOS application form and confirm/update information. She made note of our address change and my current employment, and then I was asked to sign to make sure I approved all the changes. She also went over many of the Yes/No questions in the form, and once that was done, she asked if we had further documentation we wanted to present. My husband ha... read complete review

We had our interview yesterday. We arrived about 10 minutes early, went through security (had to take off shoes and everything) then up an elevator to the second floor where we provided our interview notice to the receptionist and were told to wait for our name to be called. We were called in about 20 minutes later. The officer was very friendly, she said she had reviewed our entire file already and had no questions as to the validity of our relationship. She asked if we had any updated evidence to add, so I gave her new documents including photos. She looked through it quickly and asked who two of the people in one photo were (my mom and husbands mom, so she confirmed our families have met) She went over the information on the I-485, updated our address and work history and then went through the yes/no questions. She asked what date we got married, who handles the finances in our home, why we moved to Virginia. The whole interview was only about 20 minutes long and very laid back. Sm... read complete review

Just home from our interview. It went really well, the officer was very warm and talked us through our application then asked a few questions.
Where did we meet?
Can you provide a brief a history of your relationship?
He then advised that we would approve our case and we should check online for status change.
Our case status is now ‘New Card is being produced’

My husband and I had our AOS interview yesterday at the Fairfax office, and it went pretty smoothly. The office is what you would expect - like a DMV but with more tension in the waiting room. We were called exactly 15 mins after our interview time, and the officer was friendly and professional. She mainly asked me questions, and my USC husband just sat there quietly most of the time. We went through the whole I-485, confirming addresses and other basic info before running through all the scary yes/no questions. After that she asked what other evidence we had brought, and I handed over updated documents for my husband's Affadavit of Support as well as evidence of our married life. We had a lease, joint credit card, wedding photos and cards etc. At the end she gave us a speech about USCIS having 120 days to let us know their decision, and we left feeling a bit worried. One hour later our case status changed to "Interview was completed and case must be reviewed," and four hours after tha... read complete review
