Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

My husband and I had our AOS interview yesterday at the Fairfax office, and it went pretty smoothly. The office is what you would expect - like a DMV but with more tension in the waiting room. We were called exactly 15 mins after our interview time, and the officer was friendly and professional. She mainly asked me questions, and my USC husband just sat there quietly most of the time. We went through the whole I-485, confirming addresses and other basic info before running through all the scary yes/no questions. After that she asked what other evidence we had brought, and I handed over updated documents for my husband's Affadavit of Support as well as evidence of our married life. We had a lease, joint credit card, wedding photos and cards etc. At the end she gave us a speech about USCIS having 120 days to let us know their decision, and we left feeling a bit worried. One hour later our case status changed to "Interview was completed and case must be reviewed," and four hours after that it changed to "new card is being produced." So excited to be done with this process for a couple of years! Just make sure you have all your documents organized and the interview isn't a big deal.
