Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Had interview in Sacramento field office on Jan 28,2020. It was a pretty smooth process.

We found parking near USCIS office @520 N St, Sacramento. Plenty of parking available when we were there.
and its' very close to USCIS office.

We arrived about 30 minutes before our scheduled time, after checkin, we had to wait for about an hour for getting called in office for interview. Interview lasted for about 30 minutes.

We were called by officer Simone and she walked us to here office. One in her office she gave us oath and started with going through I-130 application. First confirmed SSN of petitioner and went through the complete form, then asked questions about where met and when did we got engaged/married. Then asked full name of spouse and birth date and address.

Then she proceeded with I-485 application. First confirmed beneficiaries SSN and then asked full name, dob, address and long list of yes/no questions on I-... read complete review

It was a pleasant experience. Officer Simone was very understanding, patience, and friendly. She approved my petition on the same day.

We followed another reviewer in a parking car on N st garage which is like 5 min walk from the building. Be there like an hour ahead cuz sometimes it takes longer to just get in. Remember this building contains court and other government offices.

We got to 2nd floor showed I485 interview letters + IDs. Walked to another room and waited. After about 15 min Officer called us in. She is extremely nice.

Standard process: Oath followed by lawyer's presence waiver. After that took our I 485 letter and ID. Immediately started asking I485 questions which went on for 10min.
Now go through every line on the I485 application for me first followed by my wife. I had a new job offer and corresponding I 485J. She took that and filed it. My wife had a correction in the I485 application which she took updated.
She looked at our pictures and talked about family and vacations.
Because of the new I 485J she said it may take 2-3 days for approval and wal... read complete review

Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Our AOS interview went smoothly! The only real hard part was waiting for them to call us in. Our appointment time was at 8AM on a Tuesday. We parked at the nearby parking garage (520 N St) since there is only street parking in the area and we didn’t want to deal with finding a spot and worrying about 2-hour parking limits. The garage is one block from the USCIS office.

We arrived around 7:35 and had to go through security. The security guard greeted us and asked for our IDs and what we were there for. After saying we are here for our AOS interview, he wanted to check the AOS letter and had us take off our shoes to go through the metal detector. Once through we took the elevator to the 2nd floor and followed the signs towards room 2-230 (as stated on our AOS letter). There was a line up to the check-in windows and had about 5 people in front of us. We were in the line at about 7:45 and waited a few minutes to get to the window where the nice lady asked for our AOS lett... read complete review
