Review Topic: Adjustment of Status

Everything was run efficiently and the people were very friendly. Security only takes two people at a time and the others have to wait outside the security area - so be aware you can't just barge through the door and the line up becomes packed quickly.

Was completely over prepared with the amount of paperwork we ended up being asked to provide - better to be over prepared than under prepared!

We waited no more than 10 minutes and were called in for the interview. We were asked to provide both license's and beneficiary passport. (I had already handed in our additional evidence to the receptionist when we checked in). The only questions asked besides "What is your wife's name, date of birth and place of birth?" was "How many times have you been to the US since birth?". Then the officer and my husband went through the I-485 together as the officer checked off that the answers matched - and that was it! He was serious but not aggressive, friendly enough to not... read complete review

The Hartford CT location was nice; easy to find the main entrance and everything was on the main floor with parking just behind the building. Check-in and the interview were calm and casual. I was expecting to have to hand in our ID's but all reception asked for was the appointment letter and our updated evidence. After that we waited for about 15 minutes with a few other couples for our names to be called.

Once called, we were led to a cozy office down the hall. We had a young officer who was a previous marine, and he was stern but friendly. After swearing us in and taking my photo and fingerprints, he asked for our passports, US licences, SSN cards, and my EAD/AP card. After confirming everything matched up he started in on the questions. Most of them consisted of confirming our story and all the names and dates in my AoS packet (he checked them off as we went). Despite my husband coming along, he never said a word other than to agree with me lol.

Arrived 30min late due to heavy snow. 9am appointment. office was still able to see me.

Brought all documents used for application (all original passports/birth certificates/marriage cert/etc). Wife had to surrender H1B1 Visa for original entry.
Brought 50 or so photos of relationship over year.
Brought documents to show joint assets (bank account, utilities, car insurance, proof of checks to show she contributes to mortgage)

No personal questions asked aside from confirming date of marriage, wife's full name.

Review Topic: General Review

My husband had his AOS biometrics appointment scheduled for June 9, 2017 at the East Hartford Application Support Center. The day and time were inconvenient for us and the office is quite far away, so we decided to attempt a walk-in on a day that was more convenient for us.

We arrived at around 11 AM on 5/30/2017. The office was deserted; we were the only people there when we first arrived. As we were waiting about 2-3 more people arrived. They gave us a bit of a hard time, and made a big deal about where my husband could sit in the waiting room vs. where I could sit as we waited. My husband was called into the office of the person who decided whether to accept walk-ins. He was jokey and friendly enough, but was clearly unhappy that we were doing a walk-in. He asked my husband if he would normally show up 10 days early for a doctor's appointment. My husband showed him the appointment letter, which said that most offices accept walk-ins if staff time allows.
