Arrive at 6:15AM and everyone was across the street. There was a street vendor selling coffee and provided seats. We sat there until 6:30AM when people started to line up at the consulate building's main entrance. Greeter checked interview confirmation , DS-160, and passport.. Many brought backpacks and bags. After checking your bags and searching you, you turn in your cell phones and x-ray scan your bags.. The beneficiary line up for the fingerpriting. The petitioner is asked to wait in the waiting area. After the finger printing, we waited about 30 minutes before being called to one of the windows to submit all the required documents. I don't have a birth certificate and so submitted naturalization, baptimsal certificate, and certified copy of family registry from my country. The CO took everything that they needed and returned other documents. Then we were told to wait to be called for interview. We waited another 30 minutes or so and called to one of the windows with A... read complete review

The Vietnamese staffs at the gate refused my entry inside the building with my fiance because I do not have my passport with me. They would not accept my original certificate of Naturalization as a proof of US citizenship. I have to take a taxi back to the condo to get my passport. Upon return to HCM consulate one hour later and show my passport, they refused my entry again because my fiance already inside the building. I waited outside for another hour before my fiance comes out with a written note from the official request my present for the interview. The interview went very smoothly. After talking to the CO for about 5 minutes, he approved my fiance visa. I think all of my documents and pictures were in order, they just want to obverse our interaction in person. I think four trips to Vietnam to see my fiance and during the time there, we make three trips together to Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand help our case.

We had our interview scheduled for 8:15 am, but we were so anxious, went at 645 am. Already a long line around the building. Started to screen people at 7 am. Despite the crowd, it was reasonably well organized. The waiting wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She and her daughter got checked in and given a number. Of course, the numbers before and after kept getting called, but I assume this was due to different types of visas. After about an hour, we were called up for a document check. The person was really nice and verified that the i134, birth certificates, house book and DS160, as well as police check #2 were correct. Gave us back a bunch of extra copies that we made. About an hour later, we were called up for our interview. We were sworn in and the CO asked me a couple of questions. I was so nervous, I don't remember what he asked LOL.
After that, asked me to sit down, then asked my fiancee about 6 questions. Mostly stuff about where I was born, how we ... read complete review

My Wife's Interview was at 8:30AM got there early and everyone was already inside processing, Had to give documents to One counter than to another for a checklist. Took us about two hours to get our interview taken place and it was literally the easiest interview ever. We got a CO that was really easy and nice and i went up with her to the counter and swore the oath. He told me to take a seat and he would call me if he needs anything. They Asked my wife if she wanted to do the interview in english or vietnamese and she choose english which i believe helped her in the interview. They asked her a serious of easy questions and the approved her. I believe that the petitioner being there helped my wife a the interview. We saw a lot of Blue Slips that day as well and it seemed that most of the people were blueslips for family members or others but rarely spousal visas
