Had my K1 Fiancé visa interview 20th July 2018 all my worrying was for nothing! Honestly, the most friendly, relaxed atmosphere. (I now believe everyone who said it previously LOL)
My appointment was at 11:30am, I got to the Embassy 10:20am and sat by the water surrounding the embassy with my Mum before she headed off to wait for me.
At 10:50am I walked to the entrance, a nice friendly girl told me to come back earliest at 11:10am, so I sat back on some benches and waited.
Went back up at 11:10am and she let me through to airport style security. I had a small backpack and a folder of all my documents, (had to take my Pandora bracelet off but earrings and engagement ring was kept on) no issues, went through and walked upto 3 roped lines saying where to stand depending on your time of appointment. There was no staff there so myself and 2 other people were confused and waited for someone to notice us LOL which they did within 5 minutes.
Walked throug... read complete review

Had an appointment at 11am, showed up at 10:5am and was out by 11:55am! I found the embassy easy to get to from Vauxhall underground station, took my husband and I about 5 minutes to walk there along the Thames. They simply checked our info (My appointment info, DS260, passport & husbands passport) at the tent outside the embassy security entrance. We proceeded through airport style security, and to the main building. There were very few queues- only one or two groups ahead of us at each checkpoint.
The lady at the main front desk was very friendly and checked my documents again, put a sticker with my number on it, and directed us to the appropriate waiting room on the first floor. You just need to keep an eye on the main tv screens to know what desk to go to. The smaller ones above the actual windows weren’t working all that well. My number was called up within a few minutes. A very sweet lady checked all my paperwork required (birth certificate, ACRO, marriage certific... read complete review

First of all it should be a crime for them to assign appointments so early in the morning for people who live far away from london, but once you get there and get through security, it's easy as hell. The interview itself took like 2 minutes.
All the staff were nice and helpful etc etc HOWEVER if by any chance any other transgender person should be going through this process: the guy I saw had never seen a gender recognition certificate before so I had to explain it to him (while other people could hear....). Just be prepared to have to feel really awkward about explaining the name change and such.
Also the questions I got in the interview were: where does your wife live, when was the last time you went over there, has she ever been here, does she have her own house/apartment, when did we first meet in person.
So a pretty simple process, honestly the worst part was having to wait in line in the five million degree heat outside for like 10-15 ... read complete review
